People have been writing wills in one form or another probably since time began. Prior to 1858 it can be quite hard to find them as they are in many different place. After 1858 all wills have been deposited centrally and an index of these can be found at First Avenue House Holborn. They are listed in heavy tomes sorted by alphabetical order and year, you can then order a copy of original for 5. As soon as the will has gone to probate it is possible to order a copy. We all spend our lives keeping our finances secret but soon as you die and leave a will it becomes a public document

I have listed for all the variants of the Isard name. I have also amassed quite a collection of copies of original ISARD wills, I would be willing to look up info for those who want details of the contents of a will, feel free to contact me
